Key Features

Formagraft® is a synthetic bone graft substitute, which simulates the components of natural human bone, comprised of collagen and bioceramic granules. Highly purified collagen provides excellent biocompatibility to reduce the degree of foreign body reactions and promotes the osteogenesis of bone. Bioceramics provide the environment similar to human cancellous bone in structure and chemical composition. Formagraft® is used as osteoconductive scaffold for bone regeneration. Formagraft® functions as an osteoinductive matrix to which the patient’s bone marrow may be added prior to implantation. It serves as the effective matrix for new bone formation. In situ, the collagen and the bioceramics are resorbed and replaced by new bone, similar to the resorption and remodeling observed with autograft. It is indicated for packed into bony voids or gaps, especially used in spinal fusion and bone-repair surgery. Formagraft® has the submission from FDA and has been widely used in the hospitals in North America.
